A logo is more than just an identifying mark for any organization. It is the essence of what they represent to the public. Every element that goes into the final design symbolizes a quality that’s present in the organization, its people and its work.

Just as a great ending is to a memorable book, so Hospice Hawaii is to a person’s life. We have a different philosophy about what caring means for our patients. It’s not about making the end of a person’s life free from pain. Rather, it’s about doing everything we can to ensure that the rest of a patient’s life is one that’s filled with possibilities. That means that we consider the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.

The Symbol – The heart is a universal symbol of love and caring. It represents why we do what we do, caring for a patient not just because he/she is in pain, but because he/she deserves to be treated with love and care like anyone else.

The Swirl – This represents how we care for our patients as a whole person, which means more than symptom management. It expresses how we view a patient as the sum of her parts – mind, body and spirit – and the need to treat each part.

The Focus – Where the swirl meets, at the center, is the peace and calm that HH brings to a patient’s life. We are the calming influence that’s present to oversee the turbulence that affects the patient and those who are near and dear.

Colors – Blues and greens signify our local roots, an organization started by the community to serve the community. The soft flowing strokes of watercolor also symbolize how we treat each patient differently. Never rigid, always pliant to the changing needs of each individual patient.
