How Can Hospice Hawaii Help?

We will ease your pain - Hospice care is palliative or comfort care. Our goal is to help our patients be as free from pain and suffering, and to promote the highest quality of life possible.

We will come to you - Our hospice care team makes visits to wherever the patient calls home. We also have on-call nurses available by phone on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

We will work with the patient / family to develop a personal care plan - Each care plan considers the patient and their family as a whole unit, striving to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. There is constant communication between patient, family, and the hospice care team to ensure that the patient receives the best care possible.

We will include your family - We will teach care giving skills to family members.

We will work with your own physician – Our Hospice team works directly with your private physician to assure the most appropriate care specifically for you.

  • Registered Nurses focus on pain management and symptom control to help a patient be as comfortable as possible.  They also provide case management services to assure appropriate and adequate hospice care for the patient and family.
  • Licensed Social Workers provide assistance with coping, emotional support, bereavement care, and assistance with getting help from community resources.
  • Certified Nursing Aides assist patients with bathing, personal hygiene, and dressings.
  • Chaplains offer spiritual support and counseling for all faiths.
  • Volunteers provide companionship, respite care, light patient care, and/or run errands.
  • Art Therapy is available to patients and families who can benefit from it as a meaningful form of expression.
