Hospice Services Provided
Hospice Hawaii provides palliative (comfort) care and support for persons with terminal illness and their families. The goal of hospice is to help our patients live as fully as possible, to provide comfort and relief from pain and symptoms during the last months of life and experience a meaningful ending or transition from physical life. The patient and their loved ones are the central focus of all care that our team provides.
Hospice Hawaii provides the following services:
- Nursing care focusing on comfort and relief from pain and other distressing symptoms
- 24-hour on-call availability of a registered nurse
- Assistance with a patient's personal hygiene
- Emotional and spiritual support for patients and their families
- Assistance ordering medical supplies and equipment
- Instruction and support to help family members care for their loved one
- Assistance with respite care, companionship, meal preparation, errands, and direct patient care by specially trained hospice volunteers
- Spiritual counseling for all faiths
- Bereavement counseling and support for family members
